PRODUCT
Is there any maintenance with vinyl log siding?
NO! NONE! That is why so many people love our product. They want the look of a real wood home but don’t want to spend the time or money that real logs require.
Are there any special steps to installing the product?
No. The siding installs EXACTLY like any other vinyl siding. That’s another reason our product is so popular—it gives you the look of a real log cabin with NO maintenance and EASY installation!
What is the “R” Value?
The siding does not have an official R Value because the foam insulation does not cover the entire back of the siding—just the curved profile. However, the foam backing and insulation do provide some thermal protection. A good estimate would be about an R 3.
Is the siding dent resistant?
Yes. The foam backing gives the siding a very solid feel.
Do I have to use the door and window trim?
No. In fact most of the time the 1 1/8th” J channel is used in place of the door and window trim. The door and window trim can usually only be used if the door or window has built in J channel. This built in J is common on newer windows and doors.
What is the thickness of the product?
The siding is 44 mils thick or 44 thousandths of an inch. This is thicker than standard siding and consistent with other premium siding products.
SAMPLE KITS
What is included in the sample kit?
The sample kit includes two pieces of siding, 1 1/8th”, 5/8”, door and window trim, and an outside corner post.
Do the kits come in all one color or mixed colors?
Both! You can request either all one color or mixed colors. If a mixed kit is ordered two siding pieces will be different colors and the corner post will be the third color. You can also request just two colors rather than all three.
Are the sample kits free?
Yes, but we do charge $10 to cover the cost of shipping the sample kit. The kits are shipped via UPS Ground. ($20 for sample kits to Canada)
INSTALLATION
Do you have installation instructions?
There are really no special installation instructions. The beauty of the product is that it installs exactly like any other vinyl siding product, has absolutely no maintenance requirements, and gives you the great look of a real log cabin! If you have any specific installation questions we are happy to help! Just give us a call!
Do you have starter strip?
Yes!
Do you sell fascia?
Sorry, no we do not. We have found that there are too many shipping problems with aluminum fascia.
What is the 5/8” J Channel used for?
Normally, at the top of a horizontal wall—NOT a gable end—a piece of 1 1/8” J Channel would be used to trim or receive the last piece of siding. However, if the last piece of siding hits the top of the wall at the thin channel lock section of the siding the 1 1/8” J Channel is too wide so a piece of 5/8” J Channel is used instead. On gable ends the 1 1/8” J Channel is always used.
What are the options for mini and master mounts (electrical outlets, faucets, light mounts, or electric meters)? What about dryer vents?
We carry mini-mounts for faucets and electrical outlets, master mounts for outdoor lights, and mounts for electrical meters. We also carry both hooded and louvered dryer vents with vent tubing attached.
ORDERING
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, checks, and wire transfers. If a personal or business check is used rather than a cashier’s check, money order, or wire transfer, there may be a delay in shipment. If you would like to wire your funds we can send you wiring instructions.
Is there any special procedure to estimate how much siding my job will require?
No. The siding installs just like any other vinyl siding so estimating the amount of material needed is no different. If you have any specific questions or would like assistance please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help!
Can you assist with estimating how much siding will be needed for a particular job?
As we said above, we are happy to help! Just send an e-mail or give us a call.
SHIPPING
How is the product shipped?
The product is shipped via less than truck load freight.
Is shipping included in the price?
No. Shipping is extra. Shipping generally runs between $12 and $15 per box depending on the total number of boxes and distance from our distribution center. We are happy to work up a shipping estimate for you.
Can we pick the product up ourselves from your distribution center?
Yes. We are centrally located in the center of the United States just outside St. Louis, Missouri. We are available from 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. We are happy to make arrangements to meet someone after hours or on weekends.
Do you ship all over the United States?
Yes. We have shipped to all lower 48 states, Alaska, and Canada. We are able to ship to Hawaii and other countries as well.
Do you ship to Canada or other countries?
Yes. We can and have shipped to Canada and are able to ship virtually anywhere in the world.
Can you ship directly to the jobsite?
Yes. We can ship directly to your job site or any local business. In fact, we can ship anywhere the delivery tractor trailer can get in and out.
What if the tractor trailer cannot get into the job site?
Although this is rare it has happened. In the few instances, we have made arrangements for the delivery tractor trailer to meet someone at a set time at a local business or shopping mall parking lot (i.e. Wal-Mart parking lot). The product can be loaded onto a trailer or the back of a pick-up (if not going too far).
How long does shipping usually take?
The farther the jobsite is from our centrally located St. Louis distribution center, the longer the shipment will take. Shipments to the Midwest usually take 2-3 days and shipments to the East and West Coasts usually take 4-5 days. Shipments to Canada take 5-7 days. Shipments to Alaska vary depending on season and size of shipment. |
